Claiming CME Hours With Your Certificate

The course issues the certificate. Whether it converts into CME credit is decided by your own national or institutional authority, and submitting it is your own step to take.

Why this is yours to submit

The Foundation Module is open to anyone, anywhere. Participants enrol from many countries, and every country has its own governing body and its own rules for what counts as continuing medical education, how it is categorised, and how much of it may be claimed in a year.

No platform can practically hold accreditation in every jurisdiction its students come from. So the course does what it can do well — it teaches the material, assesses it properly, and documents your completion in a form an authority can evaluate. Taking that document to your own authority is the part only you can do.

What your certificate already contains

Most authorities assess a submitted activity on the same handful of facts. The certificate carries all of them, so in most cases no additional documentation is needed from us.

How submission usually works

  1. 1

Finish the CME track, not the Audit track

Only the CME track produces a Certificate of Completion with a post-test score. The Audit track issues a Certificate of Attendance, which most authorities treat differently.

  2. 2

Download the certificate as a PDF

Use Print / Save as PDF on the completion screen. Keep the file; the certificate ID is what ties it to the platform record if anyone checks.

  3. 3

Find the category your authority uses for externally provided learning

Authorities differ in how they classify an activity that is not locally accredited, and in how much of it may be claimed. Their own published guidance is the only reliable source for this.

  4. 4

Submit the certificate through their portal or CPD log

Attach the PDF and record the activity title, provider, date and hours exactly as they appear on it.

  5. 5

Keep the certificate for your records

Authorities audit CPD claims. Retain the PDF for as long as your authority requires.

Requirements differ by authority

Categories, annual caps, conversion rates and documentation rules vary between countries and institutions, and they change. Check your own authority's current published guidance before submitting rather than relying on a summary anywhere, including this page.

If your authority asks for something more

Some bodies request a syllabus or a statement of learning objectives alongside the certificate. The unit pages set out the curriculum unit by unit and can be cited or printed. For anything further, contact academic support.
